Good evening everyone. I'm thankful that being fully vaccinated seems to so far keeping my symptoms to those of a bad sinus infection. My head feels like it's about to explode from the sinus pressure yet I don't have the headache to go with it. My sense of taste though is totally shot. Nothing tastes right if I can even taste it. Strong black coffee, my go to drink....nothing, just warm colored water and I made a pot extra strong. I miss my chickens. I tried this evening to sit out on the back steps with them for a few minutes and it was just to humid, really made the sinus pressure worse. Rosie did go and bring Poppy in for a few minutes for some cuddle time but after about 5 minutes she was done and wanted back outside. I think tomorrow I'm having her grab Butter for some inside time. I may just throw a towel on the bed and see if she'll nap with me.

This is very positive though. I'm glad the worst of the symptoms are at bay. Please keep us posted. I really hope that you don't get any worse. Praying for you and the family.

I am so glad the vaccine served to keep the worst at bay. Still sounds pretty bad though.

Mayonnaise doesn't take many eggs, it's mostly oil. A sponge cake, cheese or pound cake, angel cake, merengues, egg salad, deviled eggs, or an omelet / frittata would use more.

And cake freezes well so you can make a lot. Meringue stores well in an airtight container.

I vote frittata. They are delicious and take a lot of eggs.

I cannot donate my eggs to the food bank I assist with. It’s a USDA sponsored venue (and would be illegal)
Note: I will have ten more eggs tomorrow!

I win lots of friends by giving them to the mail carrier and the guy who reads the electric meter and anyone who shows up. I always deliver a small lecture about the cruelty of factory farmed eggs. I suspect I am considered a bit of a nutter. But who cares.

I was going to stop for the night at the top of page 2303 (Nov 15ish, visit to pig farm). However, when I went out to close the coop this evening......i went to check on Mama who's been settling on the ground in a "box cave" with Storm (who is 2 weeks now)

She's not there...in fact, she's on TOP of the nest boxes on the far left (pic to show where, not taken today: in same spot as Dora, the pullet)

Under Mama, up there too! How in God's green earth did the little imp get all the way up there?! shared with the youngest kid in the house. He had been sent out yesterday to close the coop (I took a hefty bruise at work and was NOT going down steps without a railing). The pullets weren't in yet, so I told him tog o back out in a half hour. He forgot, so they let themselves out at the crack of dawn (everyone was fine). What he neglected to tell me was that Mama and Storm pulled this same trick YESTERDAY too. Houston, there's been a change in roosting order!
