And that record is?
That record is exactly 10cm high with 9 exactly 3oz eggs under her allowing for a 30.78 degree slope from the hghest point on the back to the nest base. Position must be held for more than one hour...;):lol:

I dunno Bob but she just had the ability to look very flat.

I am my chickens automatic coop door. (I don’t want to miss any drama)!:old
Oh trust there will be drama for observation!
To be clear the auto door would be for coop/run purposes. Letting out into the yard would remain manual.

To further clarify...hubby is building a big new coop (really a shed size 8x8 with 8 ft walls) and we are expanding the run to be 26' across the back of the garage. A huge increase from their 9' run.

There are some mornings that being up at 5am is rough. And now that travel is picking back up for work, we need to have some options for the girls in the event I have an early flight before they would be awake.

Automatic coop doors?

Anyone have one they love?
My area is humid and we get cold winters (almost as much snow as RC 😉). I'd like a manual override and most definitely want one that doesn't crush a bird if she's being a brat and blocking the door.

I'm leaning to the ADOR1 model because it looks like it fits the needs and isn't scary to look at. The JVC one looks overly complicated.

We have power to the coop, so wired or battery operated is fine.

Would love your inputs!
Is your coop door battery solar or electric,? I really would love one for the winter

Oh no, Lozzy! Did you or will you give her calcium?
She seemed to pick up in the afternoon. They got some mozzarella and she wolfed that down, along with some oats. I don't think I've got any calcium supplement left that goes in the water, but at the moment I'm putting ACV in the water due to River's sour crop. She seems to be picking up too, which is a relief. I'll continue with some cheese.

Anything a peanut or larger.
I believe that you can trust them to break them up and not choke themselves but even so I think I might wait until they are fully grown. I did not introduce walnuts to mine until they were fully grown because it was never a food I had given mine.
