Actually, Charlie was her normal self today, no egg though. I'll keep a close eye on her the next couple of days. River seems to be picking up too with the antibiotics.
That is a very positive report. I hope they continue to improve.

So had family over for dinner last night. The niece is home for visit between finishing Basic/A school (military's concentrated training for whatever job you'll be doing for them) and going to duty station. She's never petted a chicken. Of course no one will cooperate so....stole Thing 2 out of the coop when we went out to close it (didn't take phone for pic, but here's pic of Thing 2 aka the Feather Headed Dingbat)

After petting, holding, wondering over the soft feathers and 5 toes, we put Thing 2 back in the coopa nd head back inside. Hilarity ensues. She's trying to figure out how to bring the bird with her...
...service animal...
...comfort animal...no, need to get more creative to get bird past the military...
...bird's witnessed a UFO and has to be debriefed...
...bird's in witness protection program...
...the feathers of the crest act like antenna. The bird is an anti-spyware device. Bonus: will provide eggs too.

Thing 2 is still sleeping in my coop, but the ideas went nuts!

That's wonderful. Way to spread the wonder and love of chickens.
