Thought I’d add a mug today of Bock. She did something very peculiar today! First, she caught a grasshopper, ate half and brought the rest over to Cluck, the barred rock, and put it down in front of her. Cluck’s no dummy of course, and she ate it. Then later on, Bock picks some seeds off of the long grasses they play in and feeds it to Beaker! What the heck!?

Bock also likes to sit on everyone’s eggs (she’s not laying herself). She often ends up breaking the brown one. Guess she wants to look after everyone?

What a sweetheart! It seems she may be trying to fill in for the lack of a rooster. My Lilly tidbits for Sansa all the time.

Bock is indeed very sweet. I can ‘talk’ to her constantly (in her language) and she talks back. When I have them out free ranging she will come over frequently to check in with me. If Cluck or Beaker are on the nest she will go and check on them!

I'll post my fluffy butt shots in a minute, but first I want to post this one. We all know I have several lap chickens and I love that about my birds. But to me the ultimate sign of trust is when one will stretch out and fall asleep in your lap. Drumstick would do that, but none of the others would ever get that comfortable. Until today that is. Nothing and no one will ever replace Drumstick, but this little boy right here is trying his best to mend my broken heart. A silkie of all things. Never again will I think of them as weird or aliens.

Chill Lilly

Lilly want always the coop level-headed hen you see today. Mrs BY Bob was reading on Sansa for being so mean today. I thought I would remind her how mean her precious little leader used to be. I firmly beleive that someday Sansa will also be the coop calm leader. Until then though she is mirroring Lilly's behavior.

Here is a reminder of how much fun Lilly had terrorizing Maleficent and Aurora.

Poor Maleficent and Aurora! Lilly was nasty!

On the pecking order there is no particular leader yet. So far I can deduce that Shirina is above Platina as Shirina chases her and Plati screams and gets away.
