It was another big relief. @BY Bob

Finally pressure is easing my home and animal's are at peace :)

Would you believe this, the cat knocked my door twice, he's done this before.

It was around 5pm, I was watching a clip and didn't know it was pouring with rain again. The door went twice so I stopped this clip and went too answer but couldn't see anyone through my window but open the door anyway. There he was wet and miserable. I was so impressed. Nothing surprises me with him, I swear he's human

I would really like to be in a better mood, and say a few jokes or puns, but this air isn’t funny at all. A nice sunshiny day isn’t good, (when blocked off by a brown choking haze.) kinda feels like the aftermath of a bad movie. (Preparing and hiding from fallout from a nuclear issue) :barnie
Alex :( :hugs
I thought these fires had stopped

Good grief. I just checked the cameras and it looks like Maggie was in walkabout for nearly an hour and a half before she wandered by the window. Still no clue how she managed to get out of the chicken yard. Or why, really as she loves the long grass in her yard.
Maybe she went by the window looking for you. Maybe she couldn't find her way back in

big coop update

still a work in progress, but plugging along!

The full glass door was confusing to them at first, they didn't understand the autodoor in the back was their entrance/exit. After day 3, they are all on board now. I will be putting a film in the lower half of the glass to let light in, but reduce the "oh I see it and I'm gonna go for it" attempts

Here is their primary entrance/exit from the backside of coop.
The auto door mechanism is on the interior of coop to help avoid dirt or ice from getting into the tracks.

The berm will be their protected run attached to the coop. It is about 42 inches wide and 26' long.
The height will be close to 4' for roost bars and ease of ppl being able to get inside for cleaning etc.View attachment 2854457first section of run...we will have two entry points on either side of coop to access into run.View attachment 2854460
The roof is a poly carbonite material that lets light through (important since auto door mechanism is inside of the coop)View attachment 2854461

There is electricity inside so we can have the brooder/heater in extreme winter to take the edge off.
There will be 2 vent fans installed as well.
We will side the exterior to match the upper half of our house....but that probably won't happen until next spring.
WOW!!!!
It looks totally fantastic.
In the spirit of trying to be helpful, you could massively increase the fixed ventilation up high - particularly as you have the shelter of being so close to the house - my guess is opening up more ventilation will mean you can do away with the fans entirely.
Such a lovely sunny space.
Well done!

May I make a couple of suggestions. Sand/plane the edges off the rungs on the ramp. I found that the tread edges on the ramps I built frayed, sometimes making splinters. The treads get quite a lot of foot pressure especially coming down the ramp.
If you have the solar door controller inside and the roof gets dirty, which it will, it may effect the correct functioning of the auto door.
I would batten the polycarbonate sheets. Fix through the batten and sheet. It doesn't take much of a wind gust to rip the polycarbonate sheet away from the fixiings.
Lovely coop btw.:)
