Window is Fixed in Place

I cut a notch into a 2x2, predrilled it so it would not split and screwed it into place. The window is now locked into place.

I then devised a temporary way to keep the front door open until the automated door comes.

I then put fresh straw in the coop. Well that drew a crowd of hens wanting into the straw to eat the good stuff. I placed Hattie into the bew coop. She was having so much fun that Aurora figured out how to get in using the porch and ramp to join her. No one else made it in.

Her feathers are lighter than Legertha.

Now for BY Bob's self delusional rant.......The breeder said they were auto sexed at birth. Their heads were essentially the some coloring when we got them. Sylvie is smaller than Legertha. She does not have an upright posture. Ok. That is out of the way.

Well, a netted run is no protection against ground predators such as dogs, raccoons, etc. What is the planned protection for a ground intruder? Such as neighborhood dogs?

We have strong wire lattice to deter intruders. We will cover it in a layer of dirt.

There's a property I pass on my way to work every day: goats, ducks, chickens, a BLU roo...it hink of him and you every time I see him.

Probably coincides with 1st adult moult also. And as they're living in a stressful environment, the odds of them ceasing laying during moult are greatly increased. rather than deal, they get rid.

I had visited a couple of the community farms they have in Bristol. Deeply disapointed in both their attitude towards the chickens they keep and their keeping conditions.
My daughter knows how much I miss the tribes and one evening when we were out walking together she mentioned that she thought she knew of a place that had kept chickens and took me there to see if this was still the case.
I found out who was responsible for the chickens, sent them a kind of resume and said I wanted to help. I got a text back saying yes please, anything you can do to help would be wondefull.

I'm so glad you found each other.
