I took him aside, and gave him his own portion of chopped steak and made sure it went into his beak, not the hens!

I feel terrible Coco was in the coop trying to hatch a golf ball. She sat for an hour in there, so I picked her up and brought her inside. As I was carrying her, she dropped her egg out onto the floor and broke. I thought that maybe she was sick, but nope. She was only taking her time laying an egg! I feel so bad for even bothering her

Thats what we do for our little guy, even inside he tries a tidbit call but no one Comes and he eventually does.. So sad!

Today I braved leaving the girls too mingle for most of the day until their last meal.

The littles ran to me everytime I went out and I think the girls now know they mustn't be to harsh too them or big bird here (me) will be on their tails.

I waited until it was almost dark and put the babies into the big coop and fed them from the plate and made sure they had plenty too drink before making sure the wire was in place too separate them from the big girls. So all five are spending their first night together.

I feel like I did when I gave birth clucking around like a hen over her chicks.

Maybe I'll get a larger coop one day and just sleep with them

Wonderful. I am sure it will go well. The seem to be getting on just fine so far! Let us know what you find when you wake up.

Yup, probably should have left her alone. I've seen it take hours for mine to lay an egg. I never bother them on the nest if I can at all help it.
