Sorry to be a panic merchant but I remember reading an article about a chook with diabetes a while ago. They were able to manage it with help from the vet. I will try and get a link to it if you are interested.

That sounds interesting even if one doesn't have a diabetic chicken. How in the world would one manage that?

I was just reading Rainbow Fish yesterday.
The Rainbow Fish is a really pretty book but I was never comfortable with the story. It just doesn't seem right that he is giving away parts of his body.

The giving tree makes me uncomfortable for similar reasons.

(Aside from the fact that the boy is a selfish jerk in that story imho. :mad:)

The coop looks amazing. Poor sweet Platina. How well does she tolerate being handled? If she doesn’t like the sling, vcan you give her little physical therapy sessions where you hold her up and support her weight while her feet are on the ground?
I might try that once her other leg bends. Currently she is doing one legged pushups on her own.
