After spending some time with a friend that is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, your stance is similar to what they have. In particular, a baby animal is considered dead even during rehab bc the task is daunting. Thus does NOT mean they do not care for it, just the prospects are great to achieve survival and (re)integration.

Your current flock, although adults, only have infantile abilities for survival.

That all being said...I couldn't avoid falling in love and naming them too soon. Let it be known publicly that I am a weak softie.
Weak softie? Rubbish, we do not think that humans a cat or a dog that has been given a second chance in life as gor the walking dead, they have a right too life to.

I say let's give them the chance to enjoy whatever time they have left

How could I not be content? They are so sweet.

Is that what she was doing to my shirt? I was trying to figure out Legertha was doing when she was pulling at my shirt. I never thought of grooming. What does everyone else think?
Agatha and Tina must have been grooming the laces on my shoes today or maybe they thought they were worms 🤔

Agatha had a dirty bottom this morning.
I think they both needed a perch, my dear friend and neighbour sorted one out for them today while I met up with my dear old friend. I didn't even ask he just did it.

Agatha in the Epsom water which she really enjoyed then wrapped up in a nice warm towel

I'm sad I didn't take a picture of her cute fluffy butt for Bob because she looked awesome

Mine got some dry cat food because the beef liver is not yet cooked.
Dotty overcame her dislike of me to eat some from my hand. For a while my heart melted. Then she decided eating from my hand wasn't as good as actually eating my hand. OUCH! Nobody else does that. Nobody.
Well, that’s a start!
