Here in the UK and from what I can gather in the US most poultry dusts are DE.
It's not a matter of being harmfull although chickens breathing in DE or any other chemically treated dust can't be good for them.
The problem is, if they have mites and the "average" keeper has noticed this the problem is likely to warant more than a bit of anything.
The only poultry dusts I have seen here are permethrin.
I see BYC posts recommending dusting with DE but you buy that as food grade DE. The products called poultry dusts are something like 25% permethrin. I. Red to see what other ingredients are.

I sound like a native (learned as a child) but vocabulary and comprehension are limited due to lack of use. Still, it comes in handy for messing with people and calling the kids (they hear the language and come running even though they don't understand). If I were immersed again, I think it would come back again.

Wow. I am jealous. I barely speak one language!
Lovely tax.

She's one of the lap hoppers. She's very endearing but she's also a bit of a savage when it comes to removing skin in her eagerness to make sure she gets her share.
Only Henry and Matilda have worked out that everyone will get something and there is no need to grab; oh, and Lima for some unknown reason. She will wait if the scrum is too rough and come and see what I've got for her when I go and sit down.
She's got character! So does Lima! Names? Still working on those? What about after rugby players or wrestlers or teams if there's a scrum every time you arrive? Can you do a colored leg ring until you can tell them apart? (and put on all the birds if you think they're going to pick on the ones with markers)

It will be better when I've named them all. I'm not fond of calleing them Ex Batts either.
I like some collective naming in addition.
I have ‘The Roadrunners’ (Dotty+Minnie). I can tell them apart but most people can’t and they mostly hang together so I have conversations like “one of the Roadrunners pecked at my ankles” (bound to be Dotty) and “why do the Roadrunners like Kiwi fruit when everyone else turns their beaks up at it” (Lord alone knows).
So I think ‘the Tripping Hazards’ could be a collective name for a sub-group. Could also be a band.
🤔

I got lucky that night. They posed on the roost and I HAD MY PHONE WITH ME! Frequently I don't bring it along when closing the coop.

Languages are challenging simply because they're in constant flux. Add in not being immersed and the difficulty skyrockets. honestly, if you want to learn another language, go live where you're surrounded by the language. (Kids pick up language with ease: after around age 12 we lose that ability: has to do with brain development)

What is your plan for transporting them safely Bob? Cat boxes?
I am thinking dog crate. It would hold them both overnight. Of course the appointment is not until lunch time but I think they would be fine in it until we went over.

I do have a big cat carrier which would also work. I have a big cat as you know. 😆

Too late for me!
My grandfather spoke I think 7 languages. Towards the end of his life he would start a sentence in one and finish it in another with a couple of random words from a third thrown in for good measure. I was only a kid and I could understand him perfectly. We were very close and would chatter away like that.
Fifty years on I still miss him.
