This might be too soon, I'm not exactly clear on the timeline, but I wonder if dear Legertha roosted but passed in the night, falling off the roost?
Mrs BY Bob placed Legertha on the high roost with Phyllis and Sylvie after she found her Wednesday night. I was up at at 4:00 am Thursday morning. I don't know why, something woke me up. So I checked the camera. I could not tell who was whom but it is clear now.

Legertha was sitting on the ground. Her head was up. Sylvie was on the window roost next to her. I thought I had taken a photo but I guess in my half sleepy state, I did not. The spot Legertha was sitting in is where Mrs BY Bob found her body.

All of this is to say, I think your timeline is close. She likely fell of the roost and Sylvie got down to be with her. Legertha passed sometime after 4:00 on the floor.

Sarcasm alert? Or it was in two parts, chickens good, Winter not so good! I was still working on the windbreakers yesterday, I don't have a system set to go and moved parts twice getting the most effective arrangement. Very windy and 28F! For me it's a seesaw of loving the work and worrying about it. But I really enjoyed tinkering out there with the chickens' company. That's the best.

That's it. 🤣 Great stop and chickens. Blech snow!

They spent the night together on the roost.

Maggie does not like a Roadrunner roosting next to her and she runs them off mercilessly. They settle several feet away, but after dark they shuffle closer and closer to her. By morning they are typically all snuggled up next to each other.
I am hoping Sylvie will learn to shuffle up to be closer to Phyllis in the night so they can both be nice and warm.

Oh God those ears again. They really are insane! :love
Here's looking at you kid.

It's -33C here this morning, that's -27.4F. The poop platform was absolutely covered in Orpington feathers this morning! :barnie

I have turned on a heater bringing the temperature up to -13C/9F. I hope it is enough. Come on girls! Grow some new feathers!
That cold. I hope they know what they are doing!

That would be perfect. 🥰
