Aww, thanks! I want them to have the best life I can give them. :love
Your ladies are lucky to have you, too. The love and care you show them and everyone who visits your thread shines through.
I am so sorry about what happened to Legertha. My heart was in my throat as I read about her. I know that it must hurt terribly now, but thank you for sharing her with us.
It is so nice of you to say that. Thank you. :hugs

Thank you Bob. It gives me a lot of joy to see your videos!

You know what? I think she's already doing her best to adjust and with a few more days, she'll be just fine.
Her and Phyllis are on the roost together again tonight. They did it mostly without my help. Sylvie kept going in and out of the coop, up and down on the roost but I simply told her to go back in and she would.

The end result....

Can the shock of a near-miss kill them? The physical functions stop working well, need for warmth and water increased. She may have been a long time without either. Heart attack?

Another thought is blunt trauma, hit from a hawk without talons reaching their mark, and she was able to scramble into the brush, but was internally injured.
We will find out once the necropsy is done.

What you should be doing is practicing some self-care. :hugs

You know how I told you I’ve been creating graphics from vectors that are meaningful to me, well, I’d like to share one with you. When I was at a particularly low point, I had someone say to me “You’re climbing up a mountain path. It’s raining heavily, but instead of sliding back down the mountain, you step to one side and take shelter, waiting for the storm to pass”.

This is you, Bob, waiting for the storm to pass. :hugs

You are truly a special person. Thank you for this. :hugs :hugs

Just checking in to see how you are doing, Bob. My girls are back in the run. I let them back out and they stayed out for a bit and then put themselves back in. Then I heard a Red Shouldered hawk calling, so they must have seen it.
I so afraid for your ladies. I'm so glad they know to take cover. I surly hope the hawks leave your area soon.

Friends, I am worried about Bob. How much heartbreak can a person take? We love you, Bob. Someone else said that earlier, but I wanted to repeat it.

I also worry about Mrs. BY Bob. She must feel so horrible, but she was trying to do a good thing. Bob, I hope you and Rose are holding each other tight.
At this point we are a little numb just trying to take care of Sylvie right now. I need her to be strong and keep going on. Until we know what happened to Legertha we can't really deal with anything. We are going to be stuck in this limbo for a while.
