I don't think you need to post SHRA tax on your opinion/idea, though I'm not the arbiter of the tax 😄
I'm still voting hawk, either a close call causing shock or an actual hit, because small chickens are too irresistible for even passing hawks not to try. The feet punch hard in a strike. :hit 💔

I understand that. I should be doing something but I have not the energy emotional or otherwise. :(
What you should be doing is practicing some self-care. :hugs

You know how I told you I’ve been creating graphics from vectors that are meaningful to me, well, I’d like to share one with you. When I was at a particularly low point, I had someone say to me “You’re climbing up a mountain path. It’s raining heavily, but instead of sliding back down the mountain, you step to one side and take shelter, waiting for the storm to pass”.

This is you, Bob, waiting for the storm to pass. :hugs

:goodpost: Whatever feels the most soothing right now, do it.

You got great audio. Sounds like the Red-Shouldered Hawks you've said you have, check out the California recording here (first example), sounds just like it. Three like that, I'm going to say they were migrating.

Thanks. Yes, I agree 100% they are Red Shouldered Hawks, based on the calls. One seems to live here at the pond, but maybe the others were migrating. The local has been stalking the girls for a few weeks. We have other hawks that sometimes hang out, as well. Once we had a threesome of hawks I could not identify at the time. They had banding like the Red Shouldered hawks, but looked more blonde and the wings were chunkier and shorter. Almost like mini Red Tail Hawks, except with banding. I'm not sure what that would be. We have Coopers and Sharp Shinned hawks here, as well. It's just the Red Shouldered that call all year round here. I occasionally hear a Red Tail hawk, but rarely see them right here at my house.
