It's great that you found her nest. Now when she decides she's not coming off for a day you can take her a dish of food and water to her and encourage her to drink and eat. Did you happen to take a peak and see the egg count?I’m so happy, I can dance about it ! Arizona is found and happy (her nest is safe) so…. I shall dance!

I brought her food and water. I didn’t check the egg count. Maybe I can when she gets off the nestIt's great that you found her nest. And her gray is a warmer color… kind of smoky.Ester is definitely darker than Bridge.
There is one of the main problems. Most Bantams still believe humans don't know anything about chickens and what makes a decent place for a good nights sleep. Every bantam I've known, not just in Spain, headed for a tree, barn roof joists and even large bushes in prefernce to a coop. Can’t they fly really well though? I don’t want them roosting in the 20m Eucalyptus tree in the school grounds behind us.![]()
Absolutely fearsome are some carrots! Was the carrot attacking her or just scowling? They can be very aggressive.
In other words an open sided shed with roosts is probably best for bantams....maybe...we can hope....There is one of the main problems. As Mag said to me one day, "why would I want to sleep with the smell of everyones shite in my nostrils when I can sleep in the fresh air".
I did start to try and point out some of potential hazards of tree roosting and before I had got very far he looked at me and said "are you trying to tell me fresh air is dangerous?"
I had to walk away.
