Okay, I have to ask, as I'm confused:

Both Dr. Pepper and coffee (unless decaf) have caffeine. Isn't caffeine bad for them (chickens)?

I would think so. However, I have let my chickens sample wine before. They usually turn their beaks up at it, but Dorothy sampled and I think
someone else, too. I can’t recall who.

Killers

I caught hawks circling the yard today. Here is video. The intial pass was at around 10 feet of elevation just behind the fence line. They have not left the complex today.

Ugh. I’m sorry. That's scary. My girls have alerted me to where our resident Red Shouldered Hawk is hanging out… on the wires in the neighbor’s yard. I’ll try to get a pic or video on the weekend. No wonder they’ve been hunkering down so much.

I think winter has more to do with song birds singing. I live in predator central here and right now they don't sing.

Soon though the chicadees will start their mating song

Right now here the great horned owl is starting nesting (they are hooting up a storm here).

So don't worry the birds will start to sing again in a few months

We have a local pair of Great Horned Owls that hoot up a storm. I even heard them in the wee hours this morning.

Bay Watch. She has a lot of energy tonight! Yay. And didn’t want to come into the house. So she’s staying home with all the others in the coop tonight. (I’m staying inside the house tonight! It gets too cold out there.)
