Well, the Poppy egg watch continues. I was home all day and outside yesterday getting the horses and coop ready for the big temp drop and supposed 8 to 10 inches of snow that should start around noon today. None of the cochins or Poppy laid a egg even though Poppy spent her usual 4 hours in her private nest. If this snow hits, I'm going to be cranky. Who am I kidding I already am as it was around 55 yesterday and temps are already dropping, 34 currently. I don't like cold and I hate snow, I'm ready for spring. The horses are happy though as they got extra deep bedding and all 3 are down passed out napping the morning away.

One would think that Whiskers would learn her lesson with crawling info hay.... Today the wretched hens have dug a tunnel in the round bale and Whiskers has decided it's a great place to hide in! Good thing I didn't stick a pitchfork into that hay!

On grey fluffy butt!

There were no birds at all here this morning :( . They bought in a culling law of wild birds after new year , too protect our hawks and eagles. I heard a lot of shooting going on the other day, it's mire depressing.
The lack of song is really bringing me down. I hate being reminded every time I go outside.

What do you expect? Would you lay an egg if it’s that cold out? :idunno:old
