But in all my years of having chickens, my roosters never seemed to molt.

They may "slow" molt. The only way to know that Daisy, the greatest hen ever, molted was by the brilliant white of the new feathers vs the dingy yellow of the old ones.

I was thinking of that. Take my spitzhauben for example. I rarely find his feathers on the floor, and if I do, it’s only 1 at a time.

The first hard molt I ever saw was Patsy. It happened this way to her every year.

It is obviously not nearly as hard as yours, but her neck feathers were basically gone.

oops! I misread that. Even better that th3 heater worked for them. Hopefully they will choose it tonight. Are you certain you are looking at the weather correctly. We are only going down to 20°F tonight.

Yup. It is better than the last two nights. Down to 13. Last couple of nights have been down to 7.
Still chilly though if you are half naked!
I won’t worry as much tonight for sure.
