And I absolutely cannot complain about the rain now… thanks! I feel for everyone still suffering from the white plague and sub frozen temperatures… and praying that the weather forecast is wrong.View attachment 2999011
We are praying with you that evil white stuff does not show at your place.

Might have to move to BC, I hear that palm trees grow in Vancouver 😊 and bamboo.... I could learn to like rain I guess.

I think, to briefly return to the roost height conversation, that the Jersey Giants and other Large Heritage breeds have better equipped legs to deal with their mass than my little meatball crosses. Chunk has cow hocks (so he’s a little knock kneed) and was actually on my sausage cull list… but he’s managing ok. A lot of the other meat girl holdbacks also have some leg issues, and I select for strong legs and temperament when deciding who gets to join the main tribe and not make the trip to freezer camp.

Someone asked me if I had a ramp, I don't, but maybe I should put one in.

But that still doesn't make me feel good about the silkies falling or getting pushed off the top roost.

Ah, but should it dip below freezing for three consecutive days, or if the slush doesn’t melt by noon, it’s basically a state of emergency here! And don’t get me started on the driving conditions in the city… you really think that a Kawasaki crotch rocket is an appropriate choice for six inches of wet snow in one of the hilliest parts of the lower mainland? It did make for an entertaining wait for my bus though. (Spoiler he didn’t get very far!) oh, for my old phone with some of the driving issue pictures I took the year before we moved here! 😂 weather tax
