I happened again today with Hattie. Everyone was enjoying a snack on the deck. Except Hattie.

This time she would not join everyone despite me taking up the sentinel position until I got down on my knees, looked her in the eyes, and told her it was OK. After I did that, she joined in. I'm not certain how she understands me but it worked.

I’ve been threatening to post this video for a while so… today when we walked the goats I snuck up to the waterfall and got this to share with everyone.

That was amazing! So relaxing.

Awww, sweet Hattie. I think she is still affected by the hawk attack. I am so glad that...however it happens...she understands you and relaxed enough to join in the 'treat fest'. You are a wonderful chicken keeper to take that extra step and get down to her level to help her understand!!!! ( of course, this coming from someone who it hurts to kneel on my replacement knee...)

All my big trees, are on my property up the mountain. (Giant Sequoias and a few redwoods)

Thanks, it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from our house, which can be challenging with the goats… DH didn’t find it very relaxing at all. Jimmy isn’t going to be a boy much longer at this rate… he’s going to move up to wether status PDQ. Lol
