What did you use for a sealant?

I've only ever used spar-eurethane (clear) for stuff like that, but I don't know what type of paint you used, if you could use clear eurathne over it or not. It would give a slight yellowish cast, but not much. The only other thing I know of that you can use is epoxy (like for bar tops or floors)...they probably would have the same issue (almost clear, but not quite.) :(

Interesting that the first 2 look great! Did you use something different on them? Or did you use more coats of the sealant on the first 2? Odd that they still look great versus the other 4.....🤔
I don't like eurethane because of the yellowish cast so I did not use it. I tried something new that came in a spray can and promised no yellowing. I don't believe that is still stuck to any of them. The first two are different wood than the others. The paint stuck to that wood better after the weather was able to hit it than the other 4. Betty's will be made from that wood. I need to find a different sealant this time.

Oh, no, Stanley died..:hit:hit He is (was) such a big, strong, but gentle& handsome Roo. I'm glad Ned was there to take over, and had learned from Stanley.

Clearly I have more catching up to do. :(
I'm so sorry. I did not mean to break the news to you. I have ruined CCCLs post for you. 😔

No worries. I have a hard enough time keeping up with the new.
But, I am determined to read through the old - so many good stories & great info. Plus, I like getting the background/evolution of the tribes - it really does seem to inform the dynamics greatly at times. (though, sometimes I'm still scratching my head at some of the dynamics. That's when I wish I was part Dr. Do-Little and could understand chicken speak!)

I'm somewhere in the mid 1900s page-wise right now, so about a year and a half behind. (I'm just 'breaking into' Oct '20)..Ned & Lucky have been at CCCL's for about 6 weeks or so, I think.

I require a spreadsheet with each feathered friends listed and where they are 😊

Seems my gang has decided to shake things up and rearrange themselves in the hen house the past two nights.

Barn cam watching is my News watching 😁 can't sleep? Up with leg and back spasms? What better way to distract ones self than watching others sleep.... So jealous!
