Or the escort call....to the rooster 2 feet outside the door to the coop...
Well, I think talking about eggs and the escort call can often be the same thing. Though in my flock, I don’t think that is always the case

On a side note, I was spying on the inspectors via my Ring camera yesterday and could hear someone screaming her little head off about eggs in the background! 🤣I was so proud!

Well Baby made the decision for me, she got up off the nest about 4 and never got back on. I think she sat on the egg prematurely overnight as she has started the ticking time bomb cluck when she got off. I'm going to keep a eye on her to see if she snaps out of it or if she does try again. If she does decide she's trying again I'm going to wait 48 hours before I give her any eggs.
Good call!

Twofer Tuesday!

Nice reminder. RIP beautiful Sansa. 🥰
I really do miss her at times. I will say her passing did not shock me. Something was clearly very wrong and I accept that the there was nothing to be done. When the Vets cant figure it out and we try what they think. what else can you do. Poor little girl. :(

Turns out @micstrachan was correct, they were talking about eggs. They have all decided to lay at once and it is a big mess.
There was traffic congestion at the nest boxes so Minnie laid her egg on the floor in the middle of the coop.
Maggie laid a perfect brown egg which Diana messed up by laying one of her no-shell eggs and coating Maggie's egg in yolk.
Dotty laid a beautiful egg and as she often does then pooped all over it (I think it is an anatomical defect actually - she doesn't shut off the poop pipe when she lays).
So there I am with 4 eggs in various stages of sticky disgusting-ness and 4 hens all yelling at once to be escorted. Where exactly? They are all there together by the nest boxes.

The chicken behavior gets :gig

The messy eggs get :(

Nice! Is that from your friend? It looks like an Aloe, probably Aloe vera.
I just killed mine by forgetting it was in the garage when the temperatures plunged.
I feel bad, it never did anyone any harm and I killed it.
:(
Why was it living in the garage? Invite it inside.
