I am a fan of these names. I think that has been good work so far.Well me and Rosie finally made progress on naming our 4 of the 6 chicks we got. They turned 3 weeks old yesterday and are in the middle of a huge growth spurt. Ezzie is now the shortest, but the fattest. Rosie named her little Buff orp Wasabi. It is just a foregone conclusion she's having a Wasabi, the poor little thing. I was actually watching a old favorite tv show when I came up with my buffs name. She will be Ellie Mae. She is still working on her chipmunk chicks name but I've picked out Ruby for my girl. Right now she is leaning towards Sriracha but has not made a final decision. If she does go that route I'm nicknaming it Siri.
I feel bad now and I should. I had a moment after I posted it when I thought that maybe it was too far too soon. I should have taken it down then. You are being cruel. I can’t remember why I took it into the garage. I suspect to rescue it from the cats who chew all my houseplants and then throw up.
@Ponypoor Here is the link to @shadrach s Rooster article. I found it very enlightening!I would keep Pangoo but he is so big and my hens are mostly on the small side, and he really likes attacking me when I am not looking.
I know I shouldn't/can't speak for @RoyalChick. However, in the short time I've been on here, she has proven herself to be quite resiliant and to have a great sense of humor. She is sensitive (in a gentle, caring way), but she is also intelligent and perceptive. I'm quite confident that she understands it was in good fun and not meant in any way to be hurtful!I feel bad now and I should. Please forgive me.![]()

@Shadrach will be very pleased to hear this. Thanks for sharing! Just a fabulous outcome for everyone involved.@Ponypoor Here is the link to @shadrach s Rooster article. I found it very enlightening!
Ime, it took a couple of weeks for the Roo to trust the 'new' form of relationship and for his behavior towards me to start to change, and another week or so for it to be 'set' if you will. But I can now 'groom' him and he lets me pick him up in early evening (still light, but when everybody is 'thinking' about going to bed.) He really doesn't like to be picked-up/held...so in front of the girls/ in the middle of the day, he 'side-steps' my attempts.....but no longer attacks me, nor runs away. Rather he tries to herd me and will come over to see what I'm up to, but never aggressively so. Lovely change in our relationship, and I love that I get to rub his crop, waddles/chin, stroke his back, groom him whenever he is on a roost (day or night - with no picking up), and he seems to enjoy it, too. My handsome DC boy! I can't wait until he is able to woo some of the hens, and have his own little harem.
