Earning the Beak of Approval

I wonder why my Princesses get out of bed so early. Most mornings now they are up before any sign of light.
Maybe they heard about daylight savings time.
This morning it seems like it was a breakfast emergency that got them going. Emergency as in “I need my breakfast NOW!”
That is Hattie all the time. Only in the summer can she complete a night on the roost. She is just too hungry.

My tribe are cleverer than I gave them credit for. Today it's princesses turn to wait for treats, she hollers and is there right now. Yesterday it was Agatha, she just waits by my kitchen window and stares through everytime she hears me in the kitchen, Tina will shout out from the top of my gate and flexi much the same as Agatha, she waits.

As for patrols during the night that's usually princess or Agatha, they stay near the door in their coop.
My girls are really organised bless their little hearts 🐔🐔🐔🐔
Chickens are matters of organization. It is amazing if you pay attention.

I could have sworn I got more pictures today… but apparently not… I’ve been butchering my roof trusses the last few days in preparation for keeping the water out of our house… first order of business was stripping the gangnails off the top gable end truss this morning and convincing DH to help me flip it over before he went to work so I could do the other side as well. I absolutely need help to lift the two 33’ end trusses as they are made with a ton more lumber than all the rest. At least 2/3 heavier is my best guess. I then texted BIL and convinced him to come help me move the second in the afternoon. I unloaded the 4 trusses cut in half (for 8 pieces) down at the house after lunch. I had loaded them onto the trailer yesterday. I got the two end trusses turned into four and down to the build site. Of course I had lots of help the entire time… they just weren’t able to really lift anything or drive any nails, but they made sure I did a good job and kept me lots of company. Perfect help! I see in the first photo, the clerk of the works is holding a truss down so it doesn't blow away on you....in the second they are inspecting to make sure the trailer is hooked up properly & safely (while one intelligent worker is making sure the trailer is sturdy & stable)...and in the 3rd photo they are making sure your 'altered' trusses are still functional Meanwhile, Miss Intelligent One keeps saying "Hey, need help up here...come lay down with me ...I need to make sure it will support the load....come-on guys...help me out. I don't weigh enough alone for proper testing. This is getting old, laying around waiting on you all" (said no sunning hen, EVER!)
