I actually did not realize that about Silkies. Just adds to their strangeness!
I just had my silkie cross Roos processed and the meat is very dark along with the skin. I gave them to my aunt as I won't eat them, I raised them and they were my pets ☹️

But I am not opposed to others getting enjoyment from them, my aunt commented on how dark the carcass was.... That's the silkie in them.

This is really disappointing. I really wanted to visit Hawaii too but the wild chickens were the main reason I wanted to go, good job I didn't have many pennies is my holiday fund! Can't believe they have gone forward with this.
Send a letter/email to Hawaiian state government thanking them for legalizing the removal of your primary reason for playing tourist there. As a result of their decision, you will be putting your tourist dollars into the Florida economy watching the wild chickens there instead.

What about geese?
I've mentioned this before. Tempted, but Hubby says 'no' he is afraid of them. Considering getting a couple with a set of ducklings. .then be like🤷‍♀️ must have messed up the order...when it becomes obvious as they grow that they aren't ducklings (tee, hee, hee) Actually, I wouldn't be so underminded... I kinda like Pilgrim geese, but they are mid-sized...not sure if they would be deterrant enough. However, this is a good possibility
