Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

So I’m sorry I don’t have any new fluffy butt shots to share. It’s been been very busy with the death of a chicken, very busy at work, and living arrangements. Plus, because I need some sanity, I am working on that quilt.

OK, so I’ve had a couple glasses of wine… Just a disclaimer…. But I want you all to know that I love you, and coming back to this safe place is very peaceful for me. I’m sorry I’ve not been able to keep up.

I may have to inspect those stitching on that quilt I call them wine stitches haha.

I am sending you a hug (hug hug hug), any time you want to vent just send me a msg - I will need to see a pic of that quilt, and they will send you a pic of the Cathedral Window one my mum made for me

Ok I need to hustle my (not fluffy) butt got chores to do (and we all know what time thieves the chickies and ponies are)... Grocery shopping, feed mill....

I don't have any real horses, but I do collect model ones. My gallery is flooding with pictures of them. Some are just kids toys and some are real collectors models! I even have some I haven't posted to my gallery yet!

Horses are fun, but also, expensive, smelly hairy and dangerous! My Arab mare who is 20 decided I wasn't putting the hay out fast enough this morning... She was acting like a 2 yr old running bucking throwing her hooves at me... I had to dodge her and the other 3 running around me!!!

Of course once they had food in front of them peace reigned !!!

Funny how that is with both animals and people! Hahaha

Thanks, I'm glad that the 3 that survived are doing great! I also had one more pass of a naturally weak body. I still have 10 chicks, gave them a little look over, and the rest are completely healthy and happy to my examination. They are energetic, peepy, and playfull! I surely have been hoping and praying the rest will all make it with no problems! BTW, beautiful profile picture! I love horses they are my favorite animal!

I can't wait to see pics of your wee ones

50lb bag of Dumor chicken layer pellets, wasting away in my barn. The chickens just won’t eat them. Or the high protein it supplied (18% protein)

Chick fix
For anyone needing a chick fix here is a video of how they play roosting shenanigans before bed even though they actually go to bed under the heat plate. I guess they are practicing for later.

In the video there is a short bit where you can see Bella continuing to practice her running and flapping. She is the only one who really does that.

And in these pictures you can see that Lulu is having a really, really bad hair day.

In other news, raising the feeder has helped a lot. They still pull a lot out and some of it falls down to the main part of the Chicken Palace which the big Princesses appreciate.
And after her visit to the brooder, Minnie has started roosting on the roost right by it. I don’t know how that is going to work when I put the fire escape in so the chicks can come and go. I hope she doesn’t molest them too badly.

There is always the chance that she will be their mentor and not their tormentor. It is a small chance but it does exist.
