the cookies n cream they list is a mottled Houdan hybrid. Not sure if the top knot would breed through or not. The black back is on the Houdan (also no 5 toes, so unlikely for cnc or houdan), but it's also on the exchequer leghorn and the mottled Ancona and the silver spangled Hamburg (the leg color eliminates that one: blue legs). The yellow one (A) is likely an austra white. If it is, it should develop the occasional splash marking, not all over like PITA and Blanche are (they're white Sapphires though). Waiting is not easy, but as they feather in, you'll have a better idea. BTW, Houdans grow their feathers in matching the black and white lines on them. The mottling starts with their 12 week adult moult. Dunno if that happens with the Ancona or Exchequer too.
I don't think the yellow one is an Austra white, as it has subtle greyish tones on the yellow, and the legs are not as yellow at the other. They aren't slate, but they have a hint of greyish cast on them.....For the black and white, I was thinking along those lines.....didn't realize that the Houdan had five toes...should have read the description! was just looking at the coloring.
You are right, I know that it will become much more clear with true plumage...but :barnie, I've never been a patient person,,,,,,

After reading the description, yes, this is a possibility I hadn't included in the list. I was going with probably the silver spangles hamburg, and/or blue Andalusian for chick A. Chick B I was leaning towards the Exchequer Leghorn or the Mottled Anacona. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ So great, now have another possibility to Chick A, :p

Thank you..I really liked how you 'worked through' each. Gave me more insight.

@BY Bob ..I hate to say this...but I'm pretty sure #3 (that I didn't show) is a Brown leghorn. Not completely sure. Was supposed to have 16 chicks....6 Welsummer, 6 Black Copper Marans, 3 'free white egg layer pullets' [as a bonus because of my previous order & 'they have extra; - I just had to pay for the immunization] and one 'free meyer meat maker' [mmm](this last could be any 'extra' dual purpose breed they had hatch. I actually only received 15...and 2 were dead on arrival....both chipmunk striped. I was told by the operator that the mmm was an EE. So, Either I didn't get the 3rd white egg layer, or I was shorted one of my Welsummers, as one of the chipmunk chicks is DEFINITELY part Americauna - puffy cheeks....so it is the EE.

If you get Brown Leghorns, that’s great imho (I really love that breed) Hen-Rietta is six years old and I still get one white egg per day from her. She’s lovely 🥰

The yellow one has a grayish tone to the legs? Blue legs....only way the Andalusian is a possibility is if it's splash marked. It's a bit of a stretch, but the SS Hamburg is a maybe: wing feathers should come in black and white. The Appenzeller is another maybe: crest doesn't seem to have the knob fluff to start with, but pops it early. Cackle Hatchery has a pretty good slideshow of the breeds they carry, so is a quick way to cut down on the list of maybes. I wrote down the list Meyer's had, eliminated the big crests: polish, sultans, Houdans, then went to cackle for some good pics of the remaining breeds. Then only had to look up specific breeds not carried. the Houdan hybrid, Meyer's doesn't list what they crossed them with, so the (B) chick could still be the Cookie one. I would expect it to have one (or more) of: 1. Crest knob fluff. 2. Five toes. 3. Cheeks/beard. Houdans have all 3. You'll be able to eliminate several of the possibles within a week (or have definite breed). What kind of comb so they have?

They should know.
Yes… it’s not about making it better because it’s already happened, but so they know about it, and hopefully can make changes so it never happens again. I’m hoping it was just honest confusion, and a breakdown in communication regarding what was happening. Something that they can address and create an office policy to handle future similar situations.

@RoyalChick I Need Identification Help :D

Actually, I seriously do. I got some chicks and there were supposedly 3 'free pullets' included. One looks so much like my welsummers that I'm not sure which of 2 ISN'T the Welsummer. The other 2 are below.

This is what I DO know about them:
A) They are standard size (not bantams)
B) They are white egg layers
C) They come from Meyer Hatchery

I looked at the options and come up with 2 or 3 plausible (I think) for each. So, any assistance you can lend in identifying the breed would be awesome.

Both Chicks together:

Chick B)

And, yes, they are already interested in BeakBook! 🤷‍♀️ Thankfully they are still pretty innocent right now and are just looking at broody mommy pics!!!

Edited to add link to Meyer's While egg Layers
So adorable. :love

We need more leghorns around here. We are just about out of them. I'm glad you are adding one. Could I get a picture? Please.
