Welcome back, and congratulations to you and yours! What a wonderful, special time for the happy couple and your families. It is very special that the weather cleared for it too.The Wedding
So much has happened in the past 2 weeks and I have so much to catch up on here. The most important thing was the wedding which was perfect. My daughter was so happy.
The weather was dicey right up until the wedding day when the sun came out and the wind died down. This is what we saw when we woke up the morning of the wedding. It had rained mercilessly the day before. Soaking the wedding party as we changed locations from Positano to Amalfi. To wake up to the sunlight sparkling on the Tyrrhenian Sea like this was heavenly.
I did not take any pictures of the ceremony. I hired a photographer for that. Instead I remained in the moment and savored every moment. I did take a couple of photographs at the cake cutting and a couple of candids which I will share.
A candid of the bride before the ceremony.

After the ceremony we exited to an area where centuries ago the roof had collapsed. You can see the remains of the walls. We hired a mandolin and guitar to serenade the guests while bride and groom had all of their photos taken.

It was a blessed special day and I am so happy for them that they got the wedding they wanted in the end.
I was really hoping to see that roof up. Oh, well. What's another few weeks more or less.I’m not torturing everyone here with all my house building updates, and camper renovations, and my play by play and weather whining (partially because the chicken taxes would be crazy, and I don’t want to bore everyone half to death here with building theories and hijack the thread)… just a few volunteers, probably kicking themselves for it by now… and I will be back to house building soon
my goal is now getting the roof up fully by July 1st. I had joked that maybe I’d get it done before Bob got back. Nope. Hauling the modified trusses up to the attic by hand is a 2 person job… which is currently what is holding me up. I tried every which way, from a winch, to a ramp, modifying the ramp to a ladder like stand… nope, all I did was go from the ground to the attic a lot, heave on a rope, lift heavy 4x4’s over 20’ long and swear a lot. Oh and I now have a truss hung up cockeyed and stuck halfway up the ladder/ramp thing. I literally need one able bodied person for one day of solid working and I can get it all lifted… that’s all I need, I would love another person to help hold them up while I nail too, but I think I have a work around for that part.
So, yesterday we got the generator, compressor, and air hoses all set up and I shot a whole bunch of practice nails into some doubled up studs and the bottom plates of the interior walls. It’s heavy… and I’m not going to be running it at anywhere near the capacity, but I can get it over my head and it’s going to help with the crippling shoulder pain hand nailing everything was putting me in. (Talking thousands of nails here…) here’s my oops, new toy and some camper highlights. I’ve now sanded and primed the main area completely, wired it, added some insulation, built in a shelf for a 12v cooler. I also finally burnt my burn pile, took a photo of our local endangered? Orchid (they are all over the place on the north side of our road… but ok???) I finally had to break out the please return we recycle stamp and do a FB post because people are taking our cartons from recycling (that collects them for local egg producers) for fire starterand carton cost has risen to $0.70-$1 each here! Also DH spent about a week in and out of hospitals dealing with a bad infection on a burn and some other medical stuff. I’ll skip that picture…View attachment 3084645View attachment 3084665View attachment 3084674View attachment 3084687View attachment 3084696View attachment 3084702

It really was marvelous there. I have 1,000s more photos to share.Welcome back, and congratulations to you and yours! What a wonderful, special time for the happy couple and your families. It is very special that the weather cleared for it too.
For us, thank you for the video, I especially enjoyed that - it is quite transporting to have the sound and motion with that view of the coast. It must have been incredible to be there.
Thank You.Welcome back!!!
I'll keep that in mind. Thankfully after Rosie got her Wasabi and Siri she's gotten off the spicy kick. I'm giving them a few more days to come up with a name, although I have one in mind myself. Dad calls Squirrel "Pretty Eyes" if a name is not chosen soon her daughter may end up be called Cleo, short for Cleopatra. How about Bo-peep? She is peeping our of some mighty fine fluff there? I know that doesn't really go with your hot stuff names going on (Wasabi, etc.), but she is just so darn cute peeping out..that name just jumped out at me!
Welcome back, it sounds like you had a lovely time. That is a lovely shot of Aurora. It also illustrates just how magnificent her beard is if it is that impressive from behind. He's Baaaaaaaccccccckkkkkkll!!!!!!!!!!!!!
