A neighbor gave me a few garden artichokes. I boiled two, and really enjoyed the flavor of fresh produce.
I haven’t had an artichoke in decades, yummy!

I had a red tail hawk here all morning. Scree, scree, scree, and the chickens were so nonchalant about it. I had to stay out with them to make certain nothing bad happened. Finally the crows came by and it moved on.

I was very freaked out by the hawk hanging around eyeing the gals, and so thankful for the raven chasing it away. My gals need to learn about hawks... But not a hard way!

My friend worked for days and showed up tonight just too get this into the garden for them as he was digging the soil too make it more secure but my little madams started messing up his work. We are going to find a good branch to fix inside and get lights set up on it . Tina and Agatha went in right away, flexi was a little afraid and Princess hid.

I'm so glad you are getting it set up for them already. Awesome!

Yes. But maybe, just maybe, Bernadette will be better by then. She didn’t have much fun on their last day out because she just sat in the cat carrier.


I don’t know if they have a pecking order at their age but Bernadette seems to set the tone for the group. If she is being left out she bleats pitifully and the others come and sit with her.
