If I knew I could get a project working from home I would shove 4 copper Marans under her. I think she could handle 4 eggs that size....

You’re too funny! I just don’t know what happened.. I guess busy life! The girl is graduating next week so we have been non stop this senior year!! I will try and catch up a bit..

I hear ya on the senior year. I got one graduating in 2 weeks.

I think she could handle 4. If Chiquita ever goes broody I could shove 4 under her no problem if not more. When I had all 6 Cochin girls they all used the same spot. Chiquita would use that spot to lay as well and she covered them all no problem. The problem with Marans is they grow quick. If you used one of you little girls, make sure that when they hatch and are about 3 to 4 weeks old the weather is warm. I can see Chiquita having trouble covering 4 marans after 3 1/2 weeks old.

Cockerel. Comb growing, wattles more than just streaks on the chin: he's coloring up beautiful.
