Two negative fecal float tests (one Maggie, one Minnie). Then we did a third test with contributions from everyone over a 24 hour period. Collecting that is as fun as it sounds!
That test came back 2+ for roundworms and 1+ for coccidia cysts. I am not convinced 1+ for cocci is likely to be an issue in otherwise healthy birds, but given I had symptoms in 3 of 4 birds and one (Minnie) quite sick I decided to go ahead and treat for both.
Oh yes, definitely. Sorry I was not around to help advise on administering meds, but sounds like you did great. Gosh, and I did not know multiple birds had symptoms! That really helps narrow things down, doesn’t it? Looking forward to reading about a speedy recovery!

Had some excitement yesterday, I was putting up that chicken wire when the crows started kicking up a hissy fit in the bush out in the back paddock.

I looked to see what was going on, and out of the trees burst a Red Tail Hawk being chased by 8 crows! My gals started growling and stayed under the spruce tree I made a big deal of looking at the sky and acting urgently. I think they all got the idea and huddled under the spruce tree.

Really can't wait to get that run completed and covered.
Hawks! So scary. I had 2 circle the yard yesterday. The ladies were all under cover thankfully.

Last night, enjoying the crabapple blossoms (the apple tree is loaded too). Noticed the purple clouds behind...rain all night! Glorious, gentle, ground soaking, wind free RAIN!View attachment 3129419Yes, that is purple cloud seen under the tree

Morning mugsView attachment 3129425Silver: I went out in the rain for breakfast and you went in here with it! Give over!
View attachment 3129418Thing: I'm hiding over here so I don't have to go out in the rain!

Zoomed out, the bark is the dark think in the middleView attachment 3129436Cuckoo finally decided it was good....after several had looked at it, pecked at it and walked off. (That's Primula pictured with it)

It's shingles and a low pitch and she's got rubber soles on her shoes. As long as she is careful (a given with Michelle) around the edge, she'll be just fine. Wonder what she's doing up there? Judging by the smile, she's having fun whatever it is.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. 😊
