Right now, she stopped gagging for air, and seems to be breathing out her nostrils. I’m afraid to move her at all this moment
How long ago did she vomit? Maybe it provided some relief. I would not try to vomit her again. But maybe it bought her a little time? Is she right on top of you? That would be great if you could offer her a little coconut oil and just see if she’ll take it on her own. However, if I were in your shoes, I probably would not want to move her, either.

Alex, have you held a chicken before when they passed? They often will flap their wings wildly right as they die. That’s some sort of a vagus nerve response, I believe. Be prepared for that, as it can be very startling.
This isn’t my first rodeo (unfortunately) :hit

Honestly, I’m very glad that you are not “in my shoes” at this time. :hugs I will just lay here with her, and talk to you all.

Are your's purebreds? Maybe a recessive gene somewhere gives the crest? Also, ocassionally a pale brown egg layer will lay a nearly white egg....? (Not sure what color Thing usually lays....) Adorable chick, regardless of heritage! ❤️
They're supposed to be. All but Storm came from hatcheries, mostly mcmurray. I've seen the super pale brown eggs. NONE of the white eggs were those. Agreed on the adorable part.
