Lulu went on an adventure
imagine my surprise when glancing out of the kitchen window to see a small pale colored bird in the driveway.
Looks like a chicken I thought.
Hold on, it is a chicken. It is Lulu.
I have no idea what sequence of events led Lulu to be free range outside the electric fence, all on her own, and looking like a fox appetizer.
In good news she seems like the first of mine to be partial to dandelion leaves!

Naughty Lulu! How heart-stopping!

Oh no, Lozzy! I’m so sorry. Did this come on suddenly? I already know you lost her, but am reading backwards to find out what happened. I know the loss of these feather friends hurt so much.
Thanks Michelle. :hugs No, she’s been sick for a couple of weeks; she had absolutely no meat on her, it looked like she wasn’t absorbing nutrients. She was always bony, whereas Snowy padded out.

Wow glad all was ok!! These chickens are stressful at times!

Last night my dumb arse thoroughbred mare came in the back door and instead of going in her stall decided she would go out the front barn door.

She proceeded to trot down the chicken run scaring the bejezees out of the chickens - giving me a coronary, and causing the other horses to want to join her!!

Stupid Kelly stupid stupid Kelly for not shutting the hens away and closing the front barn door - more like I am the dumb arse 😡

Anyways I got her in and counted chickens and THANK GOODNESS no one was injured. I glared at her for half an hour, horses are VERY good at reading facial expressions, and she was very quiet in her stall, guess she figured she had better toe the line until bat crap crazy mama Kelly settled down.

Lesson learnt, and it just impressed upon me the urgency to get the run finished.

By evening chores everyone was calmed down (by everyone I mean me haha), and Reenie was back to annoying everyone in the barn with her cribbing and windsucking...
:clap 🤗
Time for you to chill out

Hilarious. It was marketed for foot fungus so she needn’t have got so worked up!
Strange because I tried one of the French online sites and it was ready to take my money without a prescription. Fully for foot fungus of course!
By the way you should tell her that baking soda is a horrible idea. You need to acidify to deal with yeasts - vinegar would be much better! Which reminds me, I am not a big ACV cures everything person and mainly use it on salad - but in this case it might help your chicken to acidify. Just put in her water. They seem to like the taste and it does smell good!
Caramel was slightly better last evening with all the massages ; this morning her crop is almost empty, but she hasn't eaten for three days now.
Like Minnie she is throwing herself on grass stems. They share something we don't know, I think.
She has turned very pale in her comb and face from starving, or maybe it's because she will stop laying, I don't know.
Technical swish of the head and closing the eye to pick the stem.
