Thank you for reminding me - have to take my analgesic now too haha.

Reenie broke her stall guard got loose, pooped everywhere, drug out garbage and broke one of my chickies feed bowls.

And she peed on the floor, and when I let the hens out Buttercup couldn't resist having a drink

I threw down some shavings on the pee puddle ewww!

So I will have extra cleaning and fixing doors today. Will need those pain meds!
Horse pee… ewwwww! Extra work you didn’t need. :hugs

I'd sure appreciate it if ya could. Probably gonna put a box fan in Viajito's cage when I put em up for the evening. Not much of a breeze today. It's dreadful hot 😓
My thoughts are with you.
:hugs
Extreme heat with humidity is really tough for people and animals. Thankfully out temperatures have dropped but we did have a short period of high temperatures and high humidity earlier this week. It coincided with my home A/C blowing up. I have fans and have to make do, but I really do not sleep well in that environment even with a fan.
Apparently there are supply chain issues with sourcing new A/C equipment and it is eye-wateringly expensive so I am feeling grumpy. Interestingly the chickens seemed to cope quite well - their housing is in quite deep shade and I watered down the dirt outside to give them a cool area to hang out in.

Sunny but miserable day, extremely windy and only got to 13c.

It was hilarious watching the silkies try to walk in the wind hahaha.

I keep a spare window unit for the bedroom and a portable for the living room in case my main unit goes out. It's a older unit so I like having a safety net.

No you're are a million miles from the worst chicken mum. Not even close by a billion miles. You care and do your utmost to care for them . Just look at the insensitive greedy b tards that starve neglect even abuse their flocks. They are the worst humans on earth that should be near let alone have the honor of being near any animal

I've lost two this past year and I honestly feel I let Amber down dreadfully but as for Agatha, I know I couldn't possibly have saved her but managed too prolong her life by a few weeks and the majority of that time she really enjoyed, thanks too flexi ♥️
Agatha was well past two years of age when I got her, in all that time caged up with so many other chickens with no room too move already done it's damage 😞

Yes our girls can be robust but like us humans they will have their weaknesses and the same said some will be weaker than others both in the wild and domestic.

Please don't beat yourself up. I'm really sorry for your losses but you still have the other little beauties 💕 💖 :hugs
Thanks Marie. :hugs

Ah! You and I are giants then!

Next to me mum 😆
So I won’t mention I’m just shy of 6’?

I am researching portable units right now - I have no idea how long it will take to get the replacement equipment and although I am OK right now it will start getting hotter again next week. Ugh!

Because most of the good movies are from a time when real men had manners. I still open the door for others, greet everyone at work with the same enthusiasm and say please and thank you and taught my daughters to do the same. Morals, manners and courtesies are in short supply nowadays unfortunately and my personal belief is because most sperm donors are just that and didn't believe in sticking around to mentor their kids. My husband lives by the motto “Don’t be a d**k”.

Still windy and chilly, but check this out, 7C tonight, going to be in the 90s by Tues. It's the wild swings that are bad for the critters. I am thinking of getting a new fan unit for the hen house.
