You do not need goats, defiantly not but it's possible you may have them anyway to protect your chickens and keep those unwanted weeds back.

It's really humid here, I went out at midnight to check critters. The horses were ok, mosquitoes were surprisingly not too bad.

The chickies though were still warm in the hen house so I put the fan back on the timer till about 5am. I just checked them on the cam and they seem ok.

I have the say it was lovely out in the paddock at midnight watching hundreds of fire flies all lighting up and flying around

A picture of the fireflies would have made it possible for us all to enjoy it.

Thank you, Bob , I will try. His color has changed gradually over time. I will absolutely try it, I have nothing to lose at this point.

Thank you, too @RoyalChick and all the others with thoughts and well wishes. I am so upset. I picked him from all of the DC roos to keep because he was very sweet AND had good conformation. I am so heartbroken. I will try @BY Bob suggestion, as a hail Mary, but I'm not optimistic. I so hope I am wrong & the antibiotic works!

There is no downside so you might as well try. I will be praying for him.

Princess has been complaining loudly because she thinks flexi has had more than her fair share of the corn. Meanwhile clever Tina has found the other corn and is actually getting more than her fair share

Oh this is a very difficult picture for me - it comes just as a friend of mine, whose son breeds Nubian goats, offered to bring me a few and help fix up the barn for them to live in.
I do not need goats.

Then Mrs BY Bob could come see them. You should get goats!

My goat is like this too, doesn’t mind Hunters, fresh Venison transport (but mom that’s my cart! Why are you letting that deer ride in it?) Used to ride in the tractor cab, and chainsaws mean yummy tree branches, so they are totally ok! Arduinna is a special little Goatling

Strange weather here today. All last night was lightning and thunder. Rain sounded like a downpour, but it’s dry on the ground today. Thunder so loud, it shook the house (The chooks are doing okay)
Today is not a good day for flying, there is a downdraft cell warning posted. Small aircraft beware. (Marie is a little airplane, single prop) she can’t play in thermal cells. “Who would want to?”
