Oh, good! They’re adorable. I was wondering how I could have missed that! They came last week as 6 week olds. I'm not comfortable doing chicks with the marek's possibility. You have missed very little.

Hi Bob. No, I just haven’t been on BYC much. I’ve popped by MJ, Ribh’s and Shad’s threads and stop by if I’m tagged or see something on the home screen, but I would not leave this thread. I justt can’t keep up.@micstrachan what is the latest on your group? Is everyone doing OK? How about you? Is your eye all healed up? I figured you had moved on from this thread. It is wonderful to see you back again.
Hi Ponypoor. I miss you guys! I’ve just been busy. Thanks for saying hi. You are such a kind person.Hi Michelle, hope you're doing well![]()
Great to have you back and video of Bridge resting on your leg is a bonus treat!Hi Bob. No, I just haven’t been on BYC much. I’ve popped by MJ, Ribh’s and Shad’s threads and stop by if I’m tagged or see something on the home screen, but I would not leave this thread. I justt can’t keep up.
Things are good. My eye is healed up. I finally refilled all my flower pots this weekend, and discovered a yellow jacket nest in one of the wine barrel style pots. Not fun. After unsuccessfully attempting thr Frontline in catfood eradication method amd trapping, last night I tried a non-toxic kill method. I’ll know on the next couple days if it worked, I think.
Last weekend we went river rafting and I injured myself. Check out the chaos jn thjs photo as we got tossed through a major rapid. A bit painful with a pulled muscle group, but exhilarating nontheless.

We had some drama with the neighbor across the way (who bought the other property right after we bought ours) renting it out as a corporation yard. I won’t go into it, but we are glad to have out peace, quiet and privacy back since my husband put a stop to it.
The chickens are doing well. It’s strange having some mini summer molts, but it gives them a break from laying.
I’ll close with a mugshot video of Bridge.
If you're climate is dry I would suggest a swamp cooler. That's no bueno. Time for a new unit if it's a window unit.
Thanks, RC! Miss you! I just put a hose on the nest, which is covered with a sheet at the moment, and there was zero activity. I’d like to uncover it, inspect and really soak it, but I think I’ll wait until night time. The two stings I got when I discovered the nest swelled up quite a bit, and I’d rather not risk more. The non-toxic method was mixing peppermint pure castile soap and pouring it over the nest.Great to have you back and video of Bridge resting on your leg is a bonus treat!
Glad your eye is healed up and sorry about other injuries. Let us know about the wasps - I never heard of that trick before.
I guess flying up to my hat is beneath his dignity now. He is just the perfect rooster. I'm so glad he has this wonderful home and can be the leader he is.I don't think he will have forgotton you Bob. Things have changed though. He's the boss now and he's got responsibilities, not to mention his dignity to think of.
Good idea. Actually, I could turn the entire run into an evaporator cooler. Sheet, water supply and a fan.If you have an old sheet or towel you can wet it, put it in the freezer, then find a way to get it stuck in front of the fan.
Thank you. I agree that she is beautiful.I LOVE the name. It suits her. She is just beautiful!![]()
