That's 3 birds this year with b vitamin issues. No idea where the feed store got Hector, but they aren't all on the same feed... or water... or even same area... or same breed. How? Bright side: simple treatment (provided that's what it is...:fl
🙏)
I agree, something is going on. I supplemented with a total chick vitamin & mineral supplement in their water (which has Bs) for the first week, and give it weekly thereafter (except for the ducks /geese- since they go through so much water..their first gallon of the day had the poultry vitamin supplement) Plus, for my sick boy I was giving B complex daily...and would also add that to ducks water e.o.d. So far, all the littles have been fine.

(I'll probably jinx myself now....I am not having the person caring for my flock do that....too much for someone else to manage...I"m fortunate I could even find someone willing...these 3.days are it for vaca. this year....a conference!)

I have been fascinated how the Hooligans, being a gang of three, are somehow more separate and self contained than the Roadrunners were during integration. It is a different game!
Here they use that there are three of them to bamboozle Dotty.
Dotty can be mean and if she gets a hold of one of the Hooligans she beats the crap out of them. Minnie is the same.
Here you see the strategy that the Hooligans deploy to stay safe from Dotty. She cannot figure who to go after!

I had to pull Xzit out of her box for just a few minutes. I wasn’t sure if she could even use her legs. Found out that she could, because she stepped back up on the edge, and then gently set back down on her eggs. (She’s not eating much, but I hoped that she would have pooped a little) :idunno She is truly a broody lady. 464EB192-3266-4E42-89B5-DBFF794DB445.jpeg

They sure are fast!

The Roadrunners are fast too - but they cannot figure out how to chase so many at once. It is quite comical to watch live.
Diana and Maggie pretty much leave the Hooligans alone unless one gets particularly cheeky. Usually it just takes a glance from either of those ladies and the Hooligans move on elsewhere.

Hilarious! I’m wondering if they play off each other. Like teasing and then hiding with their peers?

When Dakota gets harassed, she runs and hides behind Jaffar (her rooster) but he’s not always around, to protect her. Then if I’m out she hides near me.

Bella is willing to take some risks when melon guts are at stake.
She got some sharp pecks for being so cheeky, but she also made off with a fair bit of melon guts.

Good grief - while I was uploading the photo she scored a tomato too!
