LOL, no, the larger one on the right is the HERITAGE one. Sorry I didn't make that more clear.

All good points and now I plan on adding shade cloth. Her coop is under a oak tree and has shade most of the day. It is humid here and the heat index is near 110 on a daily basis. I try to check on them often but working on a new coop yesterday I forgot to check on her.

It is so much harder with humidity as you can't really use the concept of evaporative cooling to help then. Those are just plain old unhuman temps.....poor chickies (and you & yours, of course)

I was in the hay mow to throw down some square bales of hay and saw this lovely Beauty...

I grabbed her and brought her down, took some photos them out her out with the chickies to see what they would do.....

Nice little Garter snake

I have video of the encounter and will see about posting, but spoiler alert - my gals were not willing to take her on hahaha, guess she was a little too big for them to swallow hahaha!
