I am so happy for you that you have that - meanwhile I struggle on - finding the vet I found is a big step up from before when the only support I had was for euthanasia.I'm grateful to have my privileges revealed to me.
There are a number of avian specialist vets within a 40 minute drive of my house. The chickens at my house see Dr Mark who provides a range of consults: appointments, emergencies, phone. I've made use of all three. One time he kept a hen under observation in the hospital for a weekend, decided there was nothing wrong with her, and didn't even charge me for it.
I'm clueless why services I take for granted in Australia are not available in the US or the UK. Any ideas?
Looks great! Such a cheery color combo.Touched Up
I managed to get the new awning painted before today's rain arrived.

Peeping Tom (alex) looking up the girl's skirts!I do love the fluffy butt from underneath pictures you get!
I'm glad Gorda is doing better! The poor girl...that was a close one...what a horrible, no good, weather that is! And, unfortunately, weather is one of the things you can't do much about.Gorda is much better, back to her normal squawking self. It looks overcast from the pics but the sun had already set . No relief from the heat so tomorrow I'll put more ventilation where possible and order the shade cloth Friday when I get paid.
The was for the Roadrunners. I'd give a pitchfork to the raccoons if I could. (Well, not really. Despite not being a fan, I can't kill them . My neighbor takes them....I don't want to know what happens to them, because if it is relocating (the humane option) it is illegal here....and if it is using his rifle, I would rather not know.Oh I really know about that!
I play ‘chicken’ with the raccoons every year around my peaches.
I look every day and say ‘one more day’ and they look every night and say ‘one more night’. Whoever blinks first loses the whole crop.
The last couple of years I won because I picked just a bit too early and ripened them on the kitchen counter. My guess is the raccoons will have learned from that and this year will raid early too!
And talking of chicken, today is very humid and the Roadrunners have to put in extra work so their feathers don’t mess up.
Another 2fer Tuesday - it is hard work avoiding a bad hair day.

That is a very lovely picture - I would submit it for POW. She is definitely looking very regal in her rose bower (yes I know it is not a rose - looks like a peony).Storm surveying her domain. I think she is going to emerge the queen of the Elements.

Yep, peony it is. You have a very sharp eye, you know. Is it a pain to enter POW?That is a very lovely picture - I would submit it for POW. She is definitely looking very regal in her rose bower (yes I know it is not a rose - looks like a peony).
I just try to make them as comfortable as possible. Going to add more ventilation to some coops tomorrow. Fortunately our breeze is back so it was tolerable this evening.I'm glad Gorda is doing better! The poor girl...that was a close one...what a horrible, no good, weather that is!
