Hi, guys. You know there always has to be some sort of weird excitement at my house. Today… three chickens were very curious about something. You know when they do that really tall, long neck thing and they’re really checking something out? I could tell they were hesitant and not just going after it. I came to have a look and saw the stripes. At first I thought it was some sort of a king snake or some sort of a pretty striped snake. And then as I followed the stripes up the body, I realized oh, gosh, that is a rattlesnake. I got the chickens away from it the best I could and then my son took it down with a shovel. I feel terrible about killing wildlife and disrupting the circle of life, but with the dog and the chickens running around, I just didn’t think it was safe to leave it there.
but I couldn’t get a course up here so had to take what I could.
