Some of you may remember that we had to rehome Maryanne last year since her other two companions died. We're told that she is the lead hen there now. I don't don't how she managed to do that in such a short amount of time, but I'm sure happy she's not at the bottom of the order getting pecked to death.

Just got this picture of her with her mates. She is the rightmost one.

I got home from the bbq, the chooks were waiting for me to get to the gate. So cute. Then I opened more water areas and they went wading in the muddy mess. Even Xzit was outside with the rest of the chooks. I’m pretty sure that Xzit has been accepted back into the tribe. BBQ went well, and I shared many chicken pictures with my friends. I asked “you bring your dog, why can’t I bring my chickens?” He said “bring your chickens. They are probably very tasty!” I ain’t bringing my chickens to that place! I guess if you are willing to roost on me then eating out of my hands should be no big deal.

Butters is that way, she takes everything but most of the time she first kills it with a whack, or gently repositions it 90 degrees, and/or examines it, before she eats it!
