My chooks seem like spinning tops, wound up too tight this morning! Rocks rolling everywhere. Jaffar chasing at all of them. It’s a madhouse!!

Don't. They pump sewerage out there. And it's always massively crowded. There are heaps better beachs in Queensland.

and But of course, I would also consult with some local experts on what to actually go see… I’m not a huge beach person but after watching so much of that “real” Australian “Baywatch” I think it’s still worth a quick stop, just for the novelty factor. I don’t swim, surf, or tan so there’s not really not a lot of draw. But it does look like a lovely Tourist Trap! I prefer shade, forested areas, and wildlife (even if those drop bears are out to kill us! )

I call these little guys “stealth Roosters” as they are really good at hiding their gender, some more so than others. My friend hatched out 8 “pullets” I ended up with 7 cockerels… just like that. We were pulling the first five and I was looking at his remaining 3 “pullets” suspiciously sure enough the next day I got the call there was still crowing, 6 got renamed Sausage, and the 7th is Spike.

Because this is the feisty chick that attacked any hand in the brooder. Geronimo or Cochise or Rommel or Genghis all fit personality wise to perfection. This one has ZERO submission: 10 min plus of stare down/ fight with Horus. Either going to get himself killed taking on a predator or going to drive the predator off and be sultan of the harem.

That’s why my Chickie Hawk has a separate pen… and always will

See, clearly you need a cool vacation this summer, and the PNW get to like 86 degrees 100 tops… camp in the Douglas Firs, bask in the deep shade, enjoy some monsoons… attach some roofing membrane I have cap nail envy… unless you hand nailed those guys but you’re still welcome to visit and escape the heat too bad everyone and their chickens can’t escape it. Those temps I just couldn’t do!

I found “the secret spot” on Xzit. It’s right on the back of her neck, 1 inch below her head. Rubbing this area, causes her to close her eyes and purr, instantly!

Phyllis spent a lot of time Thursday checking out who was in her coop. I got these photos which I had been saving. Will these work? She was walking the catwalk for me.

I showed Xzit these pics too. She’s fascinated with Phyllis. Then I showed her the picture of Phyllis on the chickens room wall. Now I’m thinking that Xzit wants to be famous too, just like Phyllis!
