All the other birds are picking on Little Dakota. I had to separate her (again) from the rest. They won’t let her get under the porch where it’s cooler, so she finds shade where she can. I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to do, but I don’t want her hurt or overheated either.

Mine has me well trained, she makes sure I feed her at a specific time (5am), then she goes and snoozes for an hour then she sits and looks out the window till 8am when she goes outside

Oh good to know! I was going to try that with fluffy and curly. Ok well trimming it is… Iya stressful trimming around their eyes!

What breed is buttercup? She looks like one of my new chicks.

I would say a barnyard mutt, she is a good laying hen she lays pretty much every day a lovely blue egg! But she does tend to go off on her own, she is an escape artist and is not bound by staying with the group.

She is also friendly and very smart. I could use 6 of her! Her hatch mates are fairly good layers also but have gone broody on me. I was not expecting them to do that!
