A sad update, Caramel didn't survive the surgery.
I'm too worn out to make a tribute like I did for Vanille. I will make a wish for her death. I wished Vanille an everlasting cherry tree, I'm wishing now that all ex-batts and high production hens may be free from needless suffering .

I am very sorry, @ManueB And I feel especially bad that I may have contributed to her early demise by encouraging you to consider taking her to the Vet. In all honesty, my chickens that I have had to transport were minimally stressed, if at all, during the travel. However, I don't have a vet that will see chickens, so the only time I've transported chickens is when I am delivering healthy chickens to someone.

I feel terrible that she suffered at the end, and hate what we as humans have done to chickens in the name of profits and cheap food.

This picture you posted of her drinking framed by the mountain bckdrop is a lovely picture of her.
