Today is the St Johns Regatta In Newfoundland, it is a holiday and it’s dependent on the weather.

So yesterday was slated for the Regatta but because. It was bad weather they didn’t hold any of the activities which include long boat races (rowing) and other nautical activities.

When a good weather day occurs this week all the businesses close and everyone goes to the regatta Today is that day! Wish i could be there….

I already tried it. No way was it lcomfortable for my sweet little lady Dakota. I let her out to play in the water park. She has her wing tightly tucked close to her body….. but I love it as her chickens feets are so muddy now! (Case in point, let a chicken be a chicken) happiness can be found even in mud!

And I’m doing the best I can for my little Dakota: gonna wrap her in sports gauze so her wing is immobile

Bedtime for Gucci

Yesterday's final video comes from when it was bedtime. As usual, Glynda told everyone it was time for bed. Lady Featherington hung out a while longer and then went to join Glynda. As usual this left Gucci. Here is Gucci's journey to finding a place to sleep.

You can see in the end she looks for a place to lay down she finds a corner with something over top of her.

I took her from that corner and placed her on the ramp. She did a much better job going up the ramp last night. Of course then she tried to sleep on the porch in the corner. I had to show her the coop door. Then she lay down in a corner of the coop. So I had to pick her up and put her on the roost.

Oh dear - poor Gucci - I must say you did an admirable job at not interfering before the end. Your fingers must have been itching while she wandered around peeping!

ManueB ignore my next statement please.

Against all odds, Dakota found the strength to perch with all the others in the coop. Broken wing and all so, any of you doubt her strength and ability….,
I have amazing animal friends.

So Alex, you think it isn't really broken and the first vet didn't know what s/he was talking about?
I worry that if it is broken and you cannot bind it that she will be in pain, and if it sets it will set in the wrong position.

Why no votes for Éowyn though? She is the most obvious choice. That barrier means nothing to her.

Because Eowyen is well behaved and calm around the chickens....though watching the fence wiggle with Lady Featherington on the video, she could just 'walk up it' and it would give in to her!

Standing leap. It is no cat barrier at all. Éowyn shows a lot of interest when Gucci is brought out. I have been very worried about her hopping the fence and causing chaos with her mere presence. I am stunned that her curiosity has not inspired her to do so yet.
