I have been watching you read along and I have enjoyed popping in to see the memories. I'm so glad that you chose to introduce yourself.

Please tell us all more about these darling chicks. What kind did you get?
I have laughed and smiled and cried at all the stories. They are a wonderful slice of life with chickens.

I ordered a box of 10 surprise chickens with 3 guaranteed female chicks however they sent 13. I dont know how on earth chicken math happens so swiftly!

Because it is a surprise box and they do not band their chicks I don't know what they are yet. I know what they could be based on what breeds that are available from the farm I got them from though. I don't mind which they are and it should be fun guessing as they grow.

The possibilities are:
Swedish Isbar - almost positive 3 of the 4 yellow chicks are indeed Isbars
Black Cooper Maran
Moss Eggers
Olive Egger
Sage Eggers
Azure Eggers
Blue Alchemist
Amaraucana - one should definitely be but I cant tell which
Heritage Welsummer
German Bielefelder

Wow. That is a lot of breeds to get to know.
I will have to fall back on my usual breed identification skills. I am able to identify chickens and pretty chickens. That pretty much covers it.

This should be fun. We can have @RoyalChick identify them all for us as they grow up.

Hello-

I do not know if I will ever catch up but I have been reading your amazing thread of conversations (currently I am 2020 and Sydney has just hatched her first clutch of tiny dragons) while my ankle heals from a break. I have learned so much from all of you already. I am new to chickens and just got my first chicks from Alchemist Farms yesterday. Just wanted to say thank you and introduce myself.View attachment 3212680
Hi! Looks like you have a creative way of setting up roosts :)
What kind of breeds do you have?
