Wow - is it ever coming down here! It’s raining so hard and straight down, no wind, glad everyone is in the barn! My silkies still are ‘rain challenged’, and don’t have enough sense to come in out of the rain hahaha!

I sure wish I could send some to those who need it 😟
Sounds wonderful. They say it will rain tonight and all day tomorrow. I do so hope that is right because everything is desperate for water right now.

She had a bit of a scratch around and has roosted in her usual spot between Maggie and Bernadette.
Given Epsom Salts are supposed to relax, I figured I should wait until the morning to soak her and not stress her out by pulling her off the roost.
I am really hoping she drops an egg from the roost overnight and that solves her little problem.
Good plan, is it possible to give pain meds ?? I will be checking in tomorrow morning ❤️ Hope to hear of an egg…

What ever you do, do not send it down my way. I've had way more then I need for a while thank you.

Yes. Came back negative for Marek's and for the ILT virus that Bella had. So no more clue what she died from nor where Bella got ILTV (my bet was Minnie).
Oh now I remember reading of this.

Very strange, a real mystery. Please don’t be discouraged, I hate to say it but when you have animals you have problems, and the more of them you have the more problems you will have. ❤️

I was thinking about that as I moved to Level 2 water preservation (which includes only once daily flushing and all cups and plates to be washed outside to help the plants).
I was day-dreaming all the different ways to suck up all the water flooding you, and dump it on my poor dessicated trees.
My mind wandered around pipelines and giant syringes and a tanker train. I really liked a tanker train because it could also bring some beautiful clean-legged Marans chickens my way!
Sorry - my mind wanders in weird ways.

Yes. I realize that if I ever have a big flock of chickens I will have to train myself to think of them less individually because I would go seriously nuts if I had this level of anxiety over every single one of 10 or 20 chickens.

Poor wee gal, I agree - responsible dog ownership is seriously lacking.

I always said if you want to know how one’s kids will be, look at how they handle their dog!

My neighbour across the road has three huge dogs! She walks them while pushing the stroller with her granddaughter in it 😊 they never pull at the leash, walk and behave calmly.

Meanwhile up the road they have 4 crazy little terriors (terrors I call them) they can’t hardly walk them, they pull at the leashes, jump around - crazy dogs!

They also have a wild flock of chickens hahaha and a randy rooster 😊
Well, besides terriers being total terrors to begin with, the key there is big dogs v/s little dogs. Normally, us dog owners who have big dogs tend to put some training into them. What many perceive as cute from a small dog perspective is dangerous with a big one. In general, I prefer larger dogs, always had big dogs. I currently have a 85lb golden and a 126 lb Lab x Malamute mix. Those girls HAVE to have manners. I tried owning a small dog once, a Shih Tzu. I did everything right with socialization, exposing her to small children and she still hated small children. It was ok until I became pregnant with Rosie. I could not in good conscience keep her knowing she would bite a child if given a chance. I rehomed her to a nice older lady who had adult grandchildren and she was spoiled the rest of her life. I've not had a little dog since. That being said, if I were to go down the little dog path again there are 2 breeds that interest me. I do not think they would work with the chickens though but I would love either a Smooth Fox Terrier, or a Norfolk Terrier one day. In saying that I know that once my older golden passes I will probably wait a year or two and get my 3rd golden. I love that breed and know it fits for me.

Do you think that Dakota can make it as a prize fighter? This is her look, just out from the showers: 23BD96EB-46AD-4035-8647-EE15C62B396B.jpeg
