That is not weird at all! Who wouldn't want one of her Marans girls...and some of her extra water given you are in a drought! Win-win all around!!!

Seems these days everyone is either getting no rain (drought status), or too much rain - or too much at once, not metered out nor frozen & accumulating (winter - to gradually melt in spring)

My ducks don't like drought status, as there isn't any mud to play in. However, my plants are very happy I have ducks, as they make such a mess of their water that it gets changed daily...and the plants get the muddy-poopy-dirty water...and you can tell where it had been dumps as those plants and the surrounding grass is a lush green compared to the rest of the yard!

I love the last picture you took. They look so content to sit there in the “jungle”.

I mentioned of two work repairs guys that came last week and helped me out . They promised to leave me some hardboard I thought they would forget as they are so busy and if they remembered I was only expecting really cheap thin boards. Then on opening my door this morning look at what I saw

Absolutely perfect for my coop 👌 👏
Perfect! OSB will do the trick. Also you can slap coat of paint on it and it will last longer. If it gets wet it tends to plemb up. I use it all the time in the barn.

🥰 Nappie 🥰

I was worried about Mr Pompei’s beak, it appeared overly hooked/long so I nipped it back a bit. Has anyone ever had to trim back a beak?

I remember long ago as a teen when I had budgies I had to trim a beak…
I have never trimmed a break and I hope to never do so.

The new much larger impromptu brooder. My wallet is lighter but they seem happier. I really hope this stops them from picking at each other. First time uploading a video so hopefully it worked.

Great improvisation. It should work great!

Putting the kids to bed (the chooks) , I heard a loud scared peeping. And found this little one desperately trying to get back home. I guess she just wanted a walk about, and got lost. She’s home safe now with her mama next door:

Good save my friend! :thumbsup

I know a friends horse had his knee tendon cut because it kept locking, he would fall over because the tendon wouldn’t lock when sleeping.

Truly does what you’re describing, she nods off and usually catches herself. But every so often she will fall.

Tax

Of course at 3am I noticed I forgot to lock the sliding door on the hen house. I had to get dressed turn off the alarm and trot out there to close it. I am always worried about a raccoon getting in the barn.
