They are awesome, and they are a really good alarm for hawks.

Next spring you should try to attract them by building housing for them, I think there should be ideas online for attracting them. Just remember they can be very messy!
I have housing for them and have had tree swallows use them before. I just have to keep the sparrows out of them.

Nothing better than a good “ beak to beak” in the morning! Happy mugshot Monday: EFD7D379-21CF-47CB-AFE4-702171CDDCF0.jpeg

@RoyalChick How is Lulu this morning? :fl I'm hoping she is doing better/acting more normal :fl .:hugs

@RebeccaBoyd I am amazed at your strength and resiliance, and your compassion for the dog, Gloria. I'm hoping Momma hatches some lovely GIRLS for you, and that Chiquita's remain healthy.:hugs:hugs:hugsHopefully your aunts/uncles overcome their negativity towards you enacting your dad's wishes, and you can have good relations with them in teh future. Sounds like Rosie is a chip off the old block - stubborn & determined...but also with a huge heart. Bless you both!

@Kris5902 Hoping the EIL (evil-in-laws) have left you alone these past few days (?week?) and there were no more 'incursions' of their animals. Hopefull y when you have time to pop back on, there will be additional progress on the house and your chickens/chicks are doing well...and your Kids (meant both litteraly and figuratively) are doing well. Can't wait to see more pics of the build & Ciarn!!

A couple of Monday mugs:

You have something for me??

Gotta admit, he is a handsome boy!

I'm really hoping to hear some good news. I hope she just hasn't got the hang of the laying thing yet.

What a creative idea! Now that you've got more space I think you can introduce them to vertical play and add some perch or anything they can jump on / and maybe something they can hide under also.

After we had the attacks I restricted my chicken zone to the safest places ( still not 100% safe but I was ready to take that risk) and I let them free range in the garden an hour to two hour daily when I had the time to stay with them. I did nothing else then but watch and gather them together, in fact it earned me the nickname I have kept of "bergère des poules", hen's shepherdess🙂. But I realize this wouldn't necessarily fit in your schedule!

I saw something else that could possibly be of interest to you on Instagram, this lady has created chunnels for her chickens to connect her different safe zones bending mesh wire fencing in two : https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cg1-CAfFSa3/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
I've seen the tunnels video before. It is very clever. Thanks for pulling that up for me.

Space is everything. Along with boredom. Try to think of ways to enrich their day. Have you brought in some sod for them to dig through and peck at? That helps them to develop the proper normal bacteria for your yard as well.
@knoturavggrl Corrected to say SOD.

I mentioned of two work repairs guys that came last week and helped me out . They promised to leave me some hardboard I thought they would forget as they are so busy and if they remembered I was only expecting really cheap thin boards. Then on opening my door this morning look at what I saw
