I just went and checked on Momma hen, nothing yet. I poke my head out from under the floor in time to see one of the hooligans being chased by several big girls, including Daisy. That is odd so I have to see what they were up too. One of the fat orp sisters had a baby snake, and the other girls wanted it. She and Daisy ended up in a tug of war that did not end well for poor snakey. I knew there had to be a good reason that for the first time I have yet to find a snake in the yard. I almost felt bad for the snake, almost but not really. Go get em girls.

Ok I got the babies! They are all ok. The mystery chick is all black with some white or yellow on his head Im color blind. Here are some quick photos sorry I had a dog on my lap and I only have my phone but I will Take better ones later. I think the mystery chick is a rooster he is aggressive already so I may have 2 roos. Pleas let me know if you know what kind of chick he might be!
So adorable! :love :love :love

I am watching them carefully. Obviously I am worried about signs of illness, but also I was worried Bernie would be left as a lone chicken - but the three of them get on just fine and so far today are mostly hanging together.
I don’t know if/when Bernadette will start to lay but I can imagine that might create some different dynamics.
Things should not be so dramatic with just the three of them. I expect you won't see much change when she starts laying but it will be fun to find out.

I'll try for some tonight! I don't have a smart phone...and don't always think to take the camera out when going out to do chores (and I always end up spending time with them...Sampson, when I let them free range, follows me around honk-talking to me:love..but by the time I think to go in and get camera, it is getting dark.
Keep up with the "no smart phone" 👍. I also use a camera to take pictures, not my phone.
