The chickens are absolutely freezing this morning and so am i. The cold breeze is a reminder that winter is not far away! So soon, to. It seems like yesterday it was so hot.

Em’s feet were icecubes this morning, all wet and cold. She was shaking and puffy. They all are cold but she is the only one with feathered legs, and it gets her feet more cold and wet.

How is everyone else doing with the cold? If its affecting anyone else.
hot and humid here in the foreseeable future☹️ , surrounded by mosquitos...

Its Friday Sept. 2nd, and the chicks were born Aug. 29th. They are so adorable, I love the chirps.
The baby chicks had scrambled eggs today. One would grab a piece and run and the others would chase her instead of getting some :lau.
I put a light layer of pine shavings in the acted like it was a lava flow :lau. They are doing really good but they are crazy lil chicks.

It has been peaceful at our tribe. 😊

Light has had a bare back for half a year now ... at first it was Foggy the rooster, but her back got balder after Foggy's departure. Apparently they will peck/pluck their own feathers so it can never regrow? We bought her a chicken saddle after some research and the result is IMMEDIATE. so happy that she will have feathers for winter.

I gave the EE's Some mixed veggies today. Those picky little eaters ate all the corn and some of the carrots and left the green bean and peas! Sigh* They don't like lettuce either I haven't tried cabbage yet or watermelon which I think I will get tonight or tomorrow.

Hi folks. I am sad to report I am at an avian vet with Cashew and she is being euthanized. Very likely it is cancer and she would continue to decline rapidly. I won’t bother with necropsy this time; I’ll bury her under the walnut tree that shades their run and coop. 💔
Oh I'm so sorry, Michelle! :hugs Beautiful dear Cashew, rest in peace ❤️ :hugs ❤️
